The Japan Meteorological Agency announced on the afternoon of the 20th that "cherry blossoms have bloomed in Tokyo."

It is 6 days later than last year, when the earliest flowering was announced, but 4 days earlier than normal.

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, there were many sunny places on the Pacific side of eastern Japan and western Japan on the 20th.

Clouds spread in the afternoon in Tokyo, but a person in charge of the Japan Meteorological Agency visited Yasukuni Shrine in Chiyoda Ward at 2:00 pm on the 20th, and more than five flowers bloomed in Yoshino cherry tree, which is a guideline for flowering in Tokyo. I confirmed that it was, and announced that "Sakura has blossomed in Tokyo."

The announcement of cherry blossoms in Tokyo is four days earlier than normal and six days later than last year, the earliest announcement of flowering.

The reason why it was earlier than normal is related to the fact that the temperature rose in March, according to the person in charge of the Tokyo District Meteorological Observatory.

Yoro Kobayashi, Head of the Ground Meteorological Observatory, Engineering Division, Tokyo District Meteorological Observatory, said, "I think Sakura will be in full bloom in the future, so I hope you enjoy the season."

Flowering of cherry blossoms has progressed in Kyushu and Shikoku, and flowering was announced in Kumamoto City on the 20th.

From now on, cherry blossoms are expected to bloom in various parts of western and eastern Japan.
