[Explanation] The woman in the picture is named Huang Changju. For 38 years, she has taken care of her husband who lost both arms, not only helping her husband regain his confidence in life, but also leading the whole family on a path of happiness.
On March 2, the reporter came to Dafangping Community, Yuyangguan Town, Wufeng Tujia Autonomous County, Hubei Province, to visit the couple who shared their hands for 38 years.
[Explanation] Huang Changju is 59 years old this year. In February 1984, Huang Changju and veteran Zeng Fanyou married.
However, there were unforeseen circumstances. On March 23 of that year, Zeng Fanyou, who had only been married for 46 days, was hit on both hands by high-voltage electricity. In order to save his life, the doctor suggested amputation.
At that time, Huang Changju had just become pregnant. She held back her grief and decided to tide over the difficulties with her husband.

When he woke up, the first sentence was that you don't sign, I don't want to amputate, I said it doesn't matter, you don't think so, I will arrange the future life, and I will take care of you for the rest of your life.
As long as you live now, we both share our hands.
[Explanation] After Zeng Fanyou was discharged from the hospital, the little things in life such as dressing, washing his face, and eating became "big things" for him. Huang Changju needed to encourage and enlighten her husband while helping him adapt.
After the birth of her daughter, Huang Changju's pair of hands became for three people.
When eating, she would hold her daughter with one hand and feed her husband with the other hand, and I would eat it one bite at a time.
[Explanation] In the first few years, in order to make a living, Huang Changju took care of her husband and daughter during the day, and processed and sold honeycomb briquettes at home at night.
She also takes her husband around to do odd jobs, but sometimes people see that she has to take care of her husband and daughter, and they are reluctant to accept her.
Later, with her superb cooking skills and capable reputation, she worked as a cook at the grain management office in the town.

Every day I have to get up at 4 in the morning to get everything done, to wash up with them, and after 7 o’clock, my girl will be sent to kindergarten, and I will be required to return by bicycle.
[Commentary] Huang Changju told reporters that the most difficult thing was when she was sick. Once, she had a high fever and lay in bed and couldn't get up. Looking at her husband who was also weak because of a bad cold, she burst into tears.
[Explanation] In 1991, with the help of the local government, Huang Changju worked as an operator in the Wufeng County Water Supply Company. The water supply company was moved by her spirit and granted her a special room so that she could bring her husband to work together.
After having a relatively stable job, she rented a storefront on the street to help her husband open an "integrity store", where customers pay, find money, and pick up items by themselves.

In order to find something to do for him (Zeng Fanyou) and make our lives more comfortable, we picked up a small shop, and he was there to see the shop, and he also had a little spiritual sustenance. As soon as I got home, he told me that I would sell it today. After a few packs of cigarettes and a few bottles of wine, I was very happy.
[Commentary] In order to get her husband out of the haze, she has also been encouraging and helping her husband to practice calligraphy with brushes.
Today, Zeng Fanyou has represented Yuyangguan Town in various domestic calligraphy competitions for the disabled.
During the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, Zeng Fanyou's two works "The Splendid China of the World Expo" and "Learning from the Sea without Ends" were permanently collected by the Sunshine Pavilion of Life of the Shanghai World Expo.

Being able to write well has enhanced my confidence in life. After I feel that I have achieved a little, the more I practice, the more confident I have become. I have practiced until now. Thanks to my lover for accompanying (and) helping me along the way, it gave me a second life.
[Explanation] Today, Huang Changju's daughter works in a bank and has become the pride of the whole family.
The couple also enjoy a leisurely retirement life. They dance and practice calligraphy together every day. They live a relaxed and comfortable life. They have become widely recognized as "the most beautiful family". .
