New Yorker donates $1 billion to Bronx medical school that becomes free. Ruth Gottesman, 93, is the heiress of a billionaire philanthropist.
She started there in 1968 when she accepted a position as director of psychoeducational services. She is today the president of the board of directors of this medical school. Following this donation, this school could have changed its name to Montefiore Einstein College of Medicine, a common name for the medical school in the Bronx, New York.
