There's not even time for cries for help.

According to the indictment, the man secretly followed his wife on the way to her new friend from Kiel to Dänischenhagen.

There, the dentist from Westensee killed the woman on May 19, 2021 in the entrance area of her friend's semi-detached house.

According to the investigation, the man opened fire without saying anything as his victims greeted each other.

The perpetrator shoots two magazines empty.

Forensic medicine found 48 gunshot wounds in the woman alone.

Your 53-year-old acquaintance dies from targeted shots in the heart, lungs, liver and kidneys before the accused flees to Kiel.

According to the indictment, he shot another man there.

This death also looks like an execution: the victim was shot in the face and head five times, as senior public prosecutor Achim Hackethal explained to the district court in Kiel.

There the man has had to answer for three insidious murders for base motives since Wednesday.

Nine months after the murders, the accused 48-year-old dentist takes his place in the dock, in an olive-green jacket, his collar turned up, his gaze fixed on those present.

He follows the indictment reading carefully.

He is a hunter, but had to give up his weapons after violent attacks on his wife.

According to the indictment, he illegally possessed the guns with which he shot.

The public prosecutor's office is still investigating where they come from.

Punish because of the breakup

According to the allegations, the dentist wanted to punish his wife for the separation.

He also wanted to hold the new man at her side accountable for the relationship with her.

He is said to have shot the third victim, a mutual acquaintance of the couple, because he had betrayed his infidelities to his wife and was therefore responsible for the failure of the marriage, Hackethal said.

According to the indictment, the accused followed his wife, who lives separately from him, unnoticed in a rental car on the day of the crime.

Hackethal said he had installed a GPS transmitter on her car in advance and planned the crime.

Neighbors heard the shots in Dänischenhagen as "rattling noises", "as if you put pebbles in a container", as they say.

They describe the escape vehicle to the police, and a major alarm follows, which at times also paralyzes the brewery district in Kiel.

A 49-year-old neighbor testified that the man ran to the car with a large gun in his hand and drove away "like a singed sow".

On the evening of May 19, the dentist turned himself in to the police in Hamburg and admitted to the crime.

Since then he has remained silent on the allegations.

Police officers reported on Wednesday that he appeared courteous and "quite normal, friendly" when he was arrested.

He placed a semi-automatic pistol with a long silencer in the flap of the entrance lock and, when asked, crossed his arms in front of him to symbolize that he wanted to be arrested.

At the beginning of the trial, the accused spoke only briefly.

When asked by the presiding judge Jörg Brommann whether he was widowed, the 48-year-old replied: "Unfortunately." However, his defense attorney announced a possible statement by his client for March 10th.

Another defender accused the media of merciless prejudice and “bad attributions”.

Your client was presented as fully guilty.

A protective order had already been issued against the dentist because of violent attacks on his wife.

The public prosecutor also accuses the man of brutally abusing his ex-wife in her apartment at the end of 2020.

With the words "Now I'll finish you off" he attacked her and hit her in the face.

The victim, who was now lying on the ground, was repeatedly kicked in the head and face.

The court also appointed a psychiatric expert on the question of criminal responsibility.

In a preliminary report, he should assume that the accused is fully culpable.

The mother of the killed wife is one of the joint plaintiffs in the proceedings.

She leaves four common minor children.

The verdict is expected on March 30th.
