Hamburg: Death after dental treatment – anesthetist admits errors in the process. In 2016, a young man with broken teeth received treatment under general anesthesia in a practice in Hamburg.
A few hours later he dies. The trial against two doctors has now begun. The prosecution accuses the two doctors of not properly informing the 18-year-old about all the risks and the type of anesthesia monitoring. Because of the improper administration of anesthesia, cardiovascular failure occurred. This was misinterpreted by the anesthesiologist and emergency services were therefore alerted too late.
