Nara Prefecture and Nara City announced on the 18th that 1322 new people have been confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus.
The number of infected people per day is the third highest in the past.
This brings the total number of people confirmed to be infected in Nara Prefecture to 45,478.
It also revealed that two people had died, bringing the total number of deaths to 209 to date.
The number of seriously ill people has increased by one from the 17th to 22 people.
