Because of a threatening call to the police in Wismar (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania), emergency services searched a man's apartment.

In the incident on Friday, the 49-year-old suspect is said to have said on the phone "that he would love to shoot two police officers here," the police said on Saturday.

According to a spokesman, the man first expressed his displeasure with the behavior of the police and then obviously alluded to the case in Rhineland-Palatinate.

Due to the threat, the suspect's apartment was searched in coordination with the responsible public prosecutor's office and the district court.

A stun gun and small amounts of drugs were found there.

The man had been arrested for the time being, but was able to leave the office on Saturday morning.

Last Monday, a 24-year-old police officer and a 29-year-old chief inspector were shot dead during a traffic check near Kusel in Rhineland-Palatinate.

Since Tuesday, two Saarlanders have been in custody on suspicion of joint murder.

The investigators suspect that they wanted to cover up hunting poaching.

The State Criminal Police Office of Rhineland-Palatinate has already set up an investigative group against applause with the perpetrators on the Internet.

The 14 officers are tasked with finding the authors of hate comments.

Cooperation with the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) is also planned.
