YouTuber pays $4 million in damages for defamation of a famous singer

American rapper Cardi B has been awarded $4 million in a defamation lawsuit against the owner of a blogger who described the singer as a cocaine-addicted prostitute and a herpes sufferer.

The 29-year-old star, whose real name is Belcalis Almanzar, filed a complaint against YouTuber Tasha Kay, who specializes in celebrity news, for spreading "harmful rumors" and "offensive" information in about 20 videos, according to the complaint.

Cardi B also recovered $25,000 in medical expenses and $1.3 million in legal costs.

And Tasha Kay confirmed in her posts, which garnered millions of views on YouTube, that the American star will have children in the future with mental problems.

Cardi B, born in the Bronx, New York, has achieved widespread fame with songs including "Bodak Yellow", "I Like It" and "Monay".

The singer was accused of being involved in a brawl at a strip club in Queens, New York.
