Three years ago, a motor glider that took off from Matsuyama Airport returned due to an engine malfunction and made an emergency landing. We have compiled an investigation report that may have been done.

Three years ago, in December, the motor glider engine that took off from Matsuyama Airport turned back and made an emergency landing on the taxiway, causing the aircraft to land strongly and damage its wings and wheels.

No one was injured.

According to the investigation report compiled by the Japan Transport Safety Board, it is possible that part of the engine equipment that mixes fuel and air has been deformed and fuel has not been supplied properly, resulting in a decrease in output.

Regarding the deformation of the device, it is possible that some external force was applied due to improper handling during manufacturing and maintenance, but it was not possible to identify it.

On the other hand, as a result of analyzing the white substance attached to this device, the component of the adhesive was detected, and in fact, it is said that the adhesive was used in order to solve the problem of the device before.

However, since there is no provision to use adhesive for maintenance, the Japan Transport Safety Board says that it is important to work according to the manufacturer's instructions without repairing at your own discretion in order to ensure safety. I'm pointing out.
