During a series of sessions and seminars to be held from 9-15 February next

International photographers share their experiences and behind the scenes of their trips to the audience of “Xposure 2022”

The activities of the sixth edition of the International Festival of Photography (Xposure), will host a group of professional photographers from around the world, in a series of inspiring dialogues, in which they reveal the stories of the most prominent photographs they have taken, and their vision towards global changes and issues.

The photographers participating in the festival, which is organized by the Sharjah Government Media Office, during the period from 9 to 15 February, at the Expo Center Sharjah, opens the door for the public to learn about the scenes of their work and their experiences, as the festival provides a global platform for creative dialogue, on the latest trends and technologies used in The world of photographic art, as well as shedding light on the dimensions of artwork, and the poignant stories behind each one.

In a session entitled "Revealing the Truth of Wildlife Tourism", Aaron Jekoski sheds light on the complex human relationship with the wildlife tourism industry, while the Macedonian-Australian photographer Biljana Gorokovsky talks about her journey full of surprises and passion for the cultures of the world, in the session "The Journey of Self-Discovery from During Photography”, British photographer Levon Pace addresses the challenges of high-magnification photography in his “Extreme Limits of Macro” session.

Architectural photographer Stephen Brook will participate in a session entitled “Picturing Architecture: Historical Models and Contemporary Applications”, while photographer Omar Havana will address in the session “How the Media Shaped Patience”, the topic of declining media interest in the Nepal earthquake and its consequences, which formed the subject of his pioneering documentary film .

In a "Chance on the Road" session, Vinette Vohra explains how to compose images in a split second, focusing on professional street photography, while Alan Schaller discusses the importance of black and white photography in the "Monochrome Reality" session.

Dutch photographer Evan Ban explores the impact of the elements of light and dark on the traditional aesthetics of Burkina Faso, and their impact on the lives of the residents in a session "A Glimpse of Light";

National Geographic photographer Jules Sartore reveals to the audience the details and secrets of his experience photographing animals in reserves and zoos in the world, during his participation in the session "Building the image ark", while Chris Rainier highlights the importance of culture in the session "Cultures on the Margins: Documenting Civilization". The festival will witness a joint session entitled: “The Power of Photography”, in which Daniel Cordan, Yuri Peligurchy and Jordan Hammond will talk about the potential of photography and its role in influencing others, while Tariq Zaidi will present two unique collections of his award-winning works in a show Presentation during the session “Nudes in the Congo” and “Salvador: A Nation in Detention”;

“From the Heart of the War on ISIS”

The festival is organizing a session entitled “From the Heart of the War against ISIS”, which brings together photographer Ray Wells, and Czech photographer and director Jana Andert, whose work focuses on conflict areas and humanitarian issues, where she tells different stories of courage and determination, and how she witnessed the dangers of that war.
