On the afternoon of the 5th, there was a fire that burned the office and house of a shrine in Nagaoka City, Niigata Prefecture, and two people were found dead from the burnt remains.
According to the police, the two people living in this house have not been contacted, so the police are proceeding with confirmation of their identities and investigating the cause of the fire.
Around 6:10 pm on the 5th, a fire broke out from the office and house of Shirayamahime Shrine in Teradomarininoseki, Nagaoka City.
As a result of five fire engines coming out and extinguishing the fire, the fire was extinguished after about three hours, but a part of the wooden two-story building was completely burned down, and two people were found in the burnt remains.
According to the police, after the fire, Norihiko Omiya (53) and his 81-year-old mother, who live in this house, have not been contacted.
Police are checking the identities of the two found in the bodies and investigating the cause of the fire.
