Graffiti on city-designated tangible cultural property investigated for damage to building. On the 1st, graffiti in black pen was found on the gate of a shrine in Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture.

Graffiti was also spotted on the same gate in January this year, and the police are investigating it as a case of structural damage. According to the city, Zuishinmon is a structure dating from the mid-Edo period, with its distinctive thick pillars, and was registered as a tangibleultural property by the city in 1960.
