Hiroshima City announced on the 1st that a new mutant virus "Omicron strain" was confirmed from one person infected with the new coronavirus.

Since the infection route is unknown, Hiroshima City states that "there is a high possibility of community-acquired infection."

According to the city of Hiroshima, the new infection with the "Omicron strain" was confirmed by one of the teenagers living in the city, who was admitted to the hospital and had a mild illness.



Since there is no overseas travel or movement outside the prefecture and the infection route is unknown, Hiroshima City states that "there is a high possibility of community-acquired infection."



In addition, since there are several close contacts, we are currently conducting follow-up observations at hotels in the prefecture.
