Karim arrived inside an equipped ambulance due to his health condition, and he was placed in the dock in a moving bed in preparation for the start of the first hearing in the case.
The defense of one of the victims of the Sheikh Zayed accident told the court that all the operations that the accused, Karim Al-Hawari, needed, were performed for him and he was inside the prison hospital for follow-up.
Today, Saturday, the Giza Criminal Court, held in the Central Security Camp, considered the first session of the trial of Karim Al-Hawari, son of the famous businessman, and decided to postpone, to the next February 5 session, to implement the defense requests.
The defense of one of the victims of the accident said, in statements to reporters, after the court session, that the presence of the accused in an ambulance was not a surprise and we expected that.
Regarding the expected ruling in the case, he said that this matter is left to the court and that the accused faces more than one accusation. As for the incident of an attempt to steal and damage the surveillance cameras that monitored the incident, it is now before the court.
The families of the victims collapsed while talking to the media after the session, demanding retribution from the accused.
The Public Prosecution had referred the accused, Karim El-Hawary, who was imprisoned to the Criminal Court, on accusations of possessing cocaine with intent to use, and mistakenly causing the death of four, including three children, while driving his car at a crazy speed, under the influence of the drug.
Today's session was a procedural session, in which the prosecution followed the referral order before the court, which also listened to the defense requests, which requested the transfer of the accused to Qasr Al-Aini Hospital, but the court did not respond.
