Kazuyo Sejima, an architect from Hitachi City, Ibaraki Prefecture, who is active around the world, visited the local area and held a special lecture on architecture for children.

This course was held at the city hall on the 28th by an organization created by an NPO corporation in Hitachi City to help children think about their dreams for the future.

Mr. Sejima explained the design he had worked on so far in front of about 50 elementary school students.



Of these, in the project to renovate an unoccupied house in Inujima, Okayama Prefecture, the waste materials of the unoccupied house will be reused, and the soil on the spot will be used as a roof tile material to make the most of the local atmosphere and to display art works. I introduced what I made.



He also said that he was happy that the building he designed would be used for events held by local people.

After that, a chair making experience session was held to let them know the basics of architecture, and the children assembled the chairs with the advice of Mr. Sejima and local volunteers.
