At the beach in Nago City, Okinawa Prefecture, where a large amount of pumice stones have been washed ashore, people from adjacent tourist facilities volunteered to recover the beautiful scenery.

Since late October, a large amount of light stones have been washed ashore on the beach near Cape Busena in Nago City, Okinawa Prefecture, where you can see the fish in the sea and the resort hotels are lined up, and the white sandy beach is covered.

On the 28th, about 100 people volunteered to collect pumice stones, including hotel employees, staff of the organization that manages the underwater observatory, and people in charge of the tourism association, in an attempt to restore the beautiful scenery.

Participants took about two and a half hours to clean up the pumice stones on the beach by scooping them with a shovel or hand and putting them in a bag.

A female employee in her thirties who participated in the hotel said, "I've been washed ashore so much that I can't see the end, so I'd like to do my best as much as I can."

"I am grateful for your cooperation. I would like to return to the original white beach so that tourists can be warmly welcomed," said Tamaki Ogi, director of the Busena Marine Park Office, Okinawa Convention & Visitors Bureau, who called for collection work. I was talking.
