Vehicle gate location changed from today for relocation work at U.S. military base off Henoko.
The gate that had been used until now was close to a base where people opposed to the relocation were holding sit-ins, and traffic jams were often occurring. The Okinawa Defense Bureau commented, ``In addition to ensuring the safety of construction workers, Nago City requested further thorough measures against traffic congestion, so we decided to use the new gate.'' As mixer trucks arrived, police forcibly removed people who had staged a sit-in to prevent the vehicles from entering.
