On November 10, a sub-adult cygnet was trapped in the wetland of Poyang Lake in Poyang County, Jiangxi Province due to long-distance migration. The cygnet that had not eaten for a long time was very weak. After the staff found out during the patrol monitoring, they gave them first aid.

Rescuers quickly transported the little swan to the county wild protection station for rescue, and bought corn to feed.

At present, the little swan gradually recovers after being supplemented with food and water.

Wildlife protection personnel in Poyang County said that after the little swan's physical strength returns to normal, it will be released in the wild in the Poyang Lake wetland.

It is understood that the cygnet is a large water bird of the genus Anatidae, with a body length of 110 to 130 cm and a weight of 4 to 7 kg. The female bird is slightly smaller.

It is very similar to whooper swan in body shape. The Poyang Lake wetland in winter has clear water and abundant fish resources, which provides sufficient food and growing environment for migratory birds that migrate here.
