In February 2001, a housewife, Asami Oishi (35 years old at the time), was found murdered in a house in Myoodai, Fukuyama City, with her belly stabbed with a knife.

In addition to the knife of the weapon, blood stains that seemed to belong to the criminal were left on the scene, and the police were proceeding with the investigation by disclosing the leftover items and calling for information.

In this case, police held a press conference at 8 pm on the 25th and announced that they had arrested an unemployed Kozo Takemori (67) living in Fukuyama City on suspicion of murder.

According to the police, he was arrested on the 25th after requesting a voluntary accompaniment on the 25th because he was suspected of being involved in the case from the remains of the scene.

In response to the investigation, he denied the charges by saying "I don't remember."

On the other hand, Mr. Oishi's bereaved family said that he had no acquaintance with the suspect in the police interview.

This case, which occurred 20 years ago, was being investigated in response to the revision of the Code of Criminal Procedure in 2010, which abolished the statute of limitations such as murder cases.
