While 3.2 million Covid tests were performed between October 4 and 10, only 2.97 million were done last week.
A drop of 244,800 tests "linked to the end of free screening tests", according to the Ministry of Health which released these figures Thursday.
According to the statistical service of the ministry (Drees), this reduction is "concentrated on the weekend" that is to say once the end of free tests has become effective, on Friday 15.
Since that date, tests are no longer reimbursed for people who are not fully vaccinated, with some exceptions (medical prescription, contact case, recent positive test, contraindication to the vaccine).
The decrease appears "more marked for antigenic tests than for RT-PCR" and concerns "more particularly young adults", according to Drees.
