A group of university students and others will start an initiative to survey candidates for the House of Representatives election about their thoughts on climate change issues and introduce the results on SNS.

The questionnaire will be conducted by university students working on activities such as reducing greenhouse gas emissions together with citizen groups, and a questionnaire will be sent to all candidates.

At a press conference online on the 11th, the students explained the purpose of conducting a questionnaire to inform voters about their thoughts on climate change issues and to convey their high level of interest to them.

There are 10 items in the questionnaire, such as measures in the electric power field that emits a large amount of greenhouse gases, greenhouse gas reduction targets to be achieved by 2030, and companies according to carbon dioxide emissions. I will ask about the pros and cons of "carbon pricing" that bears the cost.

The answers to the questionnaire will be posted on SNS at any time in the future, and university students are also planning to interview the candidates directly about issues according to the region.

Ryoka Nakamura (20), a second-year student at Kagoshima University, said, "The impact of the'climate crisis'will be most affected by the young people who will bear the future. I want to create an opportunity for candidates and young people to have a dialogue."
