Maria Mendiola and her group colleague Mayte Mateos broke through with the song "Yes, sir I can boogie".
They also competed in the Melodifestivalen 2004 in Gothenburg with the song "Soy Tu Venus".
On Saturday morning, she passed away in Madrid surrounded by her loved ones.
