The past week witnessed a state of media controversy and a lot of ado about two separate incidents, or two bubbles. The first bubble is news of the so-called “Davos Global Education Quality Index”, which ranks 140 countries and is attributed to the World Economic Forum, and some have exaggerated in self-flagellation for the presence of some The ancient Arab countries are in lagging ranks, and the matter is simply that there is no such thing as the Davos Index, and the World Economic Forum did not publish any indicators in 2021. The problem here is the willingness all the time for many of us to self-flagellate, as well as to publish any content that reaches them without the slightest attempt to verify The source, and if whoever published or republished the subject of the alleged index, or even commented on it, tried to search for the source of the published classification, that great confusion and lying would not have occurred, especially since some major newspapers published articles on the implications of the alleged index, and it is sufficient for the reader to search in The Google search engine searched for that indicator, only to find a detailed investigation that completely denied the existence of this bubble.

Rumors are a dangerous weapon that can disturb public peace and affect the economies and reputation of countries. It is also a dangerous weapon in destroying the morale of peoples, especially in light of the current global conditions, and the ambiguity and anxiety that surround the economic situation in the Arab world in particular, and the world in general. . We must all work together to abort and bury rumors by not publishing any content before verifying its source, knowing that Facebook and Social Media are not reliable sources, unless the approved channels are for official bodies.

The other bubble was about a celebrity obtaining an honorary doctorate from an unknown center in an Arab country. This person is famous for permanently causing confusion and controversy, displaying his wealth and provoking society, a large number of publications denouncing what happened and how this person obtains a doctorate while he did not make an effort, Indeed, many masters and doctoral researchers felt unfair about this topic, and what applies to the first topic applies to the second topic, as if the reader searches for that center that granted the doctorate, he will find that the entire center is an obscure training center, and it has only a poor page on Facebook, and that it is not authorized to grant any honorary or non-honorary doctorate degrees, this phenomenon has become popular, and there are hundreds and perhaps thousands of fictitious entities on Facebook that give glossy titles such as Goodwill Ambassador, International Peace Ambassador, and Honorary Doctorate, Some have even gone too far with the absurdity and invented the so-called Royal Honorary Doctorate.

The best way to deal with these bubbles is to ignore and not pay attention to these trivialities, and if it is necessary to know the truth of a topic, thanks to Google, which allowed us to learn a lot, and in thirty seconds we can learn the truth from the rumor.
