China's 500-meter wide aperture radio telescope (FAST), also known as the Chinese "Tianyan" or "Sky Eye", has finally been officially opened to the world.

Many international astronomers are looking forward to the opening of FAST after the collapse of the largest 305-meter telescope at Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico in December 2020.

So far, FAST has found more than 300 pulsars and made important discoveries in areas such as fast radio bursts, a type of powerful radio wave.

FAST, located in Pingtang County, Guizhou Province, southwest China, is the world's largest single aperture radio telescope.

According to CAS, FAST is available to the world in line with the principle of open skies.

"Sky Eye" will also provide the world with research facilities in a more open way, and strive to promote the development of world science and technology and the advancement of human civilization.
