If you are interested in traveling to space, find out here the prices of tourist trips!

Virgin Galactic, a space company owned by British billionaire Richard Branson, announced the prices of tickets for its tourist flights to the edge of space, which will start at $ 450,000, nearly double what it sold in previous sales.

According to a report by the British newspaper "Daily Mail", between 2005 and 2014, the company sold about 600 tickets, each with prices ranging between 200 and 250 thousand dollars.

The company will offer three options, a single seat reservation, a group of seats for couples, friends or family members, or the purchase of an entire flight, and the vehicle is designed to accommodate up to six passengers, in addition to the two pilots, but the model in use at the moment carries only four passengers.

The company, through its CEO, Michael Colglazier, said in a statement issued by it, that it will “reopen sales of its commercial flights for 2022, with prices for these offers starting from 450 thousand dollars per seat.

Sales will initially be open to those on the list who have shown early interest in booking future spaceflights, and will have priority to purchase tickets.”

“The company is capitalizing on the surge in customer interest after last month’s successful flight, and as we strive to bring the wonders of space to a large population of the world, we are thrilled to open the door to an entirely new industry and experience to the public,” he added.

Colglazier revealed, “A new test flight of the Unity 23 spacecraft, with an emphasis on scientific research presentation, is scheduled to take place at the end of September from Virgin Galactic’s Spaceport America in New Mexico with the Italian Air Force.”

After that, the company will take a four-month layover, to begin testing the “Unity 24” vehicle later this year, and if all goes well, the first commercial flight for private astronauts is scheduled to take place on the “Unity 25” vehicle. In the third quarter of 2022, in early July, billionaire Branson and five other members arrived 53.5 miles above the Earth's surface, heading to the edge of space, to test several minutes of weightlessness before returning to Earth.
