BelTA learned this from the official representative of the State Border Committee Anton Bychkovsky.

“Taking into account the current situation, when the Lithuanian side in an organized manner delivers to our border foreigners seeking asylum in the EU countries, as well as in order to prevent provocations from Lithuania, the border service authorities have used all the necessary forces and means to prevent illegal crossing of the border of the Republic of Belarus”, - said Bychkovsky.

According to him, mobile tactical reserves of border groups and detachments are used throughout the entire section of the state border with Lithuania.

The head of the State Border Guard Service under the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Lithuania, General Rustamas Lyubayevas, said that the Lithuanian side plans to complete the construction of a fence along the entire border with Belarus in two years.

Earlier it was reported that on the night of August 2–3, a group of migrants was forcibly expelled from Lithuania to Belarus.

According to the refugees, batons and stun guns were used against them.

Also, Lithuanian Defense Minister Arunas Anushauskas said that Lithuanian soldiers, together with border guards, are already patrolling the country's border.

At the same time, according to him, there are no fewer military personnel sent to help the border guard at the border than border guards.
