Only two of six border crossings between Lithuania and Belarus will remain open. Lithuanian President: "The iron curtain must be erected because sanctions have been imposed on Belarus" The border crossings will be closed until further notice, according to the president of the Lithuanian National Council for the Defense of the Republic of the Fatherland.

The decision follows weeks of anti-government protests in the country. The opposition says the government is trying to impose its own agenda on the people of Lithuania. The government says it is only trying to protect the sovereignty of the nation.
