The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has announced improvements to the subscription service for its public libraries, and the introduction of a golden membership dedicated to some target groups, based on the two main objectives of the Dubai Model Center, which are to raise the efficiency of services and increase focus on customers, in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in transforming Dubai into a smart city, and in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, to make a qualitative leap in the level of services government in the Emirate of Dubai at all levels.

Director of the Public Libraries Department, Muhammad Jassim Al Aridi, said: “This initiative comes as part of Dubai Culture’s commitment to continuously improve the services provided in its public libraries, and develop projects that contribute to achieving customer satisfaction and promoting community well-being as a top priority in Dubai and the UAE. In line with its corporate strategic priority in achieving institutional excellence and improving the happiness of its customers, the authority has made some improvements to the subscription service for its public libraries in line with the vision of the Dubai Model Center, which aims to make a qualitative leap in the level of government services in Dubai at all levels, in addition to: We are keen to provide government services that meet the aspirations of all Dubai residents.”

Al-Uraydi indicated that to improve the service, golden categories have been created targeting cultural visa holders and their children, owners of private libraries and their children, writers, artists, writers and their children, employees of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority and their children, public benefit associations and the private sector, offering them a package of special features, including the extension of The period of borrowing books and increasing the number of borrowed books, according to the membership categories.

Gold family members get the right to borrow 35 books instead of 25 books, while adults can borrow 30 books instead of 20 books, while children under the age of 12 can borrow 20 books instead of 10 books. 28 days, it becomes 35 days for gold categories.

Al-Uraydi added that "the authority has also made improvements to the customer's journey of applying for the subscription service for library membership."
