In the midsummer season, the breeze is cool on the "Egret Island" in the southeast of Shulan City, Jilin Province.
After returning from foraging early in the morning, large swarms of herons settle in the treetops to rest and play.
Located in the Hualinwan Provincial Forest Park of Jilin Ludao, which is located in the Changbai Mountains of Zhangguangcailing Mountain, more than a thousand herons gather in spring, summer and autumn.
They either play on the water surface, or perch on branches, build nests on the trees near the water in Ludao, lay eggs, and thrive.
