The Saitama District Court has been charged with attempted obscenity when a former police officer of the Saitama Prefectural Police tried to call a woman in her twenties and touch her body based on the information she learned while working. The prosecutor's office sentenced him to two years in prison.

Takahide Ikeda, a 34-year-old police officer who worked at the Hanyu Police Station's Sukage station, threatened a woman in her twenties with information she learned while working at a commercial facility in April. He was accused of attempting obscenity when he called to the parking lot and tried to touch his body.

In a trial that began at the Saitama District Court on the 17th, Defendant Ikeda said, "There is no doubt," and admitted the content of the indictment.

The prosecution said, "It is a serious act for police officers to call based on a phone number that they know on the job, exploit the weaknesses of the victim, threaten them, and try to do obscene acts." He stated that he was sentenced to two years in prison.

In response, the defendant's lawyer demanded a suspended sentence, saying that he "has an attitude of remorse and willingness to rehabilitate."

Defendant was sentenced to disciplinary dismissal last month.

The decision will be handed down on the 1st of next month.
