The number of Covid-19 patients identified in intensive care services continues to decline slowly.

According to figures from Public Health France published on Saturday, 5,005 patients were in these services, against 5,106 the day before.

The bar of 6,000 patients exceeded on April 26 is moving away.

Hospital pressure continues to drop.

The number of Covid-19 patients identified in intensive care services continues to decline slowly, as does that of all hospitalized patients, according to figures from Public Health France published on Saturday.

Critical care services (which bring together resuscitation, intensive care and continuous monitoring) welcomed 5,005 patients on Saturday, against 5,106 on Friday.

This indicator, monitored very closely by the health authorities, is slowly moving away from the bar of 6,000 patients exceeded on April 26, and from the alarming peak of the first wave of spring 2020 (about 7,000 patients).

In 24 hours, 191 new patients with severe forms of Covid were admitted to intensive care units, compared to 269 the day before. This downward trend is also observed for all hospitalizations, with a total of Covid patients amounting to 25,800, against 26,331 on Friday. Over 24 hours, 844 patients were admitted to hospitals, against 1,140 on Friday. The disease has killed 176 people in hospital in the past 24 hours, up from 227 the day before.
