The town of Sens-de-Bretagne, located between Rennes and Fougères, has been plunged into darkness after dark since May 1.

This is not an incident or an unpaid invoice issue.

The approach is voluntary on the part of the Breton municipality which has decided to turn off its public lighting every evening until August 31.

It will then turn on the light again, but only until 10 p.m.

Like other municipalities before it, the municipality of Sens-de-Bretagne has decided to participate in the black frame operation in order to reduce light pollution during the summer.

"This environmental approach aims to fight against light pollution and greenhouse gas emissions and to preserve and restore an ecological network conducive to nightlife by creating a black grid", she says on her website Internet.

The stake is also economic for the municipality since the initiative will allow it to reduce its energy bill.
