The number of candidates for the (Unknown Heroes) initiative who responded to the Coronavirus pandemic has risen to 470, among hospital employees in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Kuwait, Oman and Jordan.

The initiative aims to honor the employees who support the first line of defense from the medical and nursing cadres, and who are making exceptional efforts to confront the epidemic, including staff cleaning rooms of health facilities, reception staff in hospitals, staff construction and maintenance of isolation rooms, officials of health insurance departments, security guards, and drivers Ambulances.

The volunteer initiative is sponsored by the Emirates Public Health Association and the Saudi Society for Health Information Management, and organized by the Acumed Company, which specializes in managing the health revenue cycle in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries and the world.

The founder of the initiative, CEO of Acumed, Dr. Ayham Rifat, said: “The initiative aims to honor employees who have made exceptional efforts in fighting the (Corona) epidemic, and their efforts have had great results in supporting medical staff to treat those infected with the virus, reduce infection and control the pandemic. At its peak ».

Among the candidates to be honored in the initiative is Ammar Al-Redha, who works as a volunteer in the field of sterilizing ambulances at the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services.

He says: "Our battle against the epidemic requires us to sterilize ambulances after transporting each patient, and with the increasing number of people infected or suspected of being infected with the virus, the rate of ambulance movement has increased, and patient reports have multiplied, which requires an exceptional effort from us in sterilization operations."

He added, "We were keen to sterilize ambulances on an exceptional basis, which is very cumbersome, but our humanitarian duty requires us to do so, in order to ensure the safety of every patient who will be transported by the ambulance vehicle."

Also among the candidates is the Saudi employee Hani Aslani, who is of people of determination and works in the field of data registration in a Saudi hospital in Jeddah.

Another candidate for the initiative is Muhammad Hudhaifa, the supervisor of operations at a private hospital in Jeddah, whose nature of work in the health sector requires him to deal with people living with the virus.
