The 96th Academy Awards ceremony took place in the United States. The leader in the number of awards was Christopher Nolan's biographical film Oppenheimer.

Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr. received awards as best leading and supporting actors. Emma Stone, who played Bella in Yorgos Lanthimos's The Lost and Lost, was named Best Actress in 2024. Hayao Miyazaki's The Boy and the Bird won best animated feature. The statuette for best original screenplay was taken by French film “Anatomy of a Fall”
