Rapper Bushido spoke about his current state of mind in the trial against clan chief Arafat Abou-Chaker.

Anxiety and panic attacks, from which he has been suffering since he was a teenager, have recently increased, the musician told the Berlin district court.

"The matter in court is gnawing at my strength," said the 42-year-old in his testimony continued on Wednesday.

He would like to no longer have to deal with Arafat Abou-Chaker, his former business partner.

Bushido, real name Anis Ferchichi, is a joint plaintiff and the most important witness in the trial, which has been going on for seven months.

He is escorted into the courtroom by bodyguards.

When asked by the presiding judge, the rapper confirmed that he was still receiving psychological treatment.

According to the indictment, there were crimes to the disadvantage of Bushido after he broke up relations with his business partner in 2017.

Arafat Abou-Chaker did not want to accept this and unjustifiably demanded a million payment and participation in Bushido's music business for 15 years.

Bushido was threatened, insulted, locked in an office in January 2018 and attacked with a water bottle and a chair.

The public prosecutor's office accuses 44-year-old main defendant Arafat Abou-Chaker of insulting, depriving him of liberty, attempting serious blackmail, coercion and dangerous bodily harm.

Three brothers of the clan chief are also indicted.

The men have been silent so far.

The rapper reported a panic attack that he suffered while the trial was paused in the district court.

"I did everything I could to make sure it wasn't noticed," said Bushido.

He does not want to “give certain people satisfaction”.

As a witness, he must also face his own mistakes.

"I hope to see it through to the end with my head held high." The trial will continue on April 12th.
