On March 22, of the 12 Hong Kong people arrested in inland waters for criminal cases last year, 8 were released from prison after serving their sentences.

Prior to this, the eight persons involved in the case were sentenced to 7 months in prison by the Shenzhen court.

The eight people were handed over to the Hong Kong police by the Mainland law enforcement agencies on the morning of the 22nd and entered Hong Kong via the Shenzhen Bay Port.

This time, eight people who had served their sentences in the Mainland were charged with the crime of crossing the border. The eight parties were Zheng Zihao, Yan Wenqian, Zhang Mingyu, Zhang Junfu, Huang Weiran, Li Zixian, Li Yuxuan and Guo Zilin.

Two other minors were handed over to the Hong Kong police after the procuratorate decided not to file a prosecution at the end of last year. The two were remanded in custody awaiting trial after being interrogated by the court.

In addition, Deng Jiran and Qiao Yingyu, who were convicted of organizing others to cross the border, were sentenced to three and two years in prison, respectively, and are still serving their sentences in the Mainland.
