On the 26th, NHK said that a staff member of the NHK news office used a cheap airline ticket for business trips, but charged a regular airfare and illegally received more than 99,000 yen such as travel expenses. I was sentenced to one month's suspension.

The chief producer of the NHK news production center in his 40s used mileage awards and cheap package plan tickets twice in August and November last year when he used the aircraft for transfer and business trips, respectively. Despite this, I was fraudulently receiving the difference of 99,480 yen by charging the regular fare.

There was something suspicious about another business trip expense claim, and when I investigated it, I found two cases of fraud.

This staff member is in charge of producing news projects, admits the facts, and has already paid the full amount.

On the 26th, NHK sentenced the employee to a one-month suspension.

NHK commented, "It is a serious act as a staff member, and I deeply apologize to the viewers. We will thoroughly enforce the rules for billing travel expenses to prevent recurrence."
