For schlager fans, it is probably difficult to understand that it has actually been so long since Charlotte Perelli last won the Melodifestivalen.

That time with the song "Hero" - and with the silver microphone which has since been a model for a hotel in Stockholm.

Flopped with their own song

Equally difficult to understand is perhaps how bad things have gone for her at the Melodifestivalen after that.

It ended with a meager fifth place in her competition with "The Girl" in 2012. And when she last opened her heart with the self-written ballad "My Life" in 2017 - then it went even worse.

She finished last in her competition.

But now she's back.

For the first time in a long time, she is now once again mentioned as one of the favorites.

And when the contribution begins with her silhouette on Saturday, many middle fans will probably remember back to "Hero".

- I know that there are many of my fans who feel that she is finally back with something we can dance to.

And it's fun when they feel that way, says Charlotte Perelli.

But is this a revenge?

- I understand what you mean that I have been with recent years that have not worked.

But I'm more of the kind of person who does not believe so much in revenge, she says.

She continues:

- Had I lined up with "Take me to your heaven" every four / fifth year, I think people would have vomited on me.

It does not matter if it was a winning song 22 years ago, you have to dare to do new things.

Therefore, I do not see the other as defeat.

"Deserves to go to the final"

Despite the bottom line in the Melodifestivalen in the last decade, his career has not stood still.

She states herself that the loss allowance last time sold gold after all - and gave her a place in So much better on TV4.

And revenge or not, she aims to at least go to the final this time.

- It is not the case that I think I will win a third time with my hand on my heart.

But it would have been very fun to go to the final because then I will at least have to work with this for another week.

And I actually think the song is so good that it deserves to go to the finals, she says.
