Andrey Myagkov was born on July 8, 1938 in Leningrad.
His father was a teacher, had a Ph.D. in technical sciences.
The mother of the future artist worked as a mechanical engineer.
At first, Myagkov was also involved in science.
He studied at the Leningrad Chemical-Technological Institute, after which he worked in a research organization.
And in his free time he participated in amateur performances.
At one of these performances, Myagkov was noticed by the teacher of the Moscow Art Theater School, who advised the young man to try his luck in the acting field.
He followed the advice and entered the course of Vasily Markov.
In 1965, the artist graduated from the Studio School and got a job at the Sovremennik Theater.
There he played in the performances "At the Bottom", "Ordinary History", "Bolsheviks", "The Cherry Orchard" and others.
Then, in the mid-1960s, Myagkov began acting in films.
He made his debut with the title role in Elem Klimov's film "The Adventures of a Dentist" (the picture went through a limited release and returned to the screens only 20 years later).
In 1968, Myagkov played Alyosha Karamazov in the film by Ivan Pyriev based on the novel by Fyodor Dostoevsky "The Brothers Karamazov".
