In China, as part of the Year of Russian Culture, a celebration of Russian Maslenitsa took place. Visitors to the Beijing Exhibition Center were introduced to folk songs and dances and were treated to traditional Russian dishes, including pancakes.
Earlier, for the first time in Russia, the Chinese New Year was celebrated on a grand scale. 2024 and 2025 were declared cross Years of Culture between Russia and China. This will be a “significant period” during which the people of both countries will have the opportunity to “immerse themselves in the wealth of traditions, art and cultural heritage of each other”
