On December 16, 2020, couscous entered UNESCO's intangible world heritage.

While his paternity has long been an object of contention, 4 Maghreb countries: Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco and Mauritania have chosen to bring the candidacy together.

An emblematic dish of North Africa, couscous recipes are endless.

Sophia Hocini, a 27-year-old Kabyle woman born in Algeria, before joining France to escape the black decade.

Like many immigrant populations, in their luggage, Sophia and her family took the couscous recipe on board.

Today, Sophia has left the family home, but she continues to carry on this tradition, a cultural heritage of which she is very proud.
