UNESCO: “We believe that water can become a catalyst for cooperation and peace”. Two billion people around the world still do not have access to drinking water.

RFI welcomes Abou Amani, director of the water sciences division at UNESCO and secretary of the intergovernmental hydrological program. For him, universal access to water can be resolved, “on condition of providing the necessary means”, which he estimates at 100 billion per year. He intends to defend, with UNESCO, a vision in which water could become a. vector of international cooperation, and therefore a factor of peace.
