China News Service, Tianjin, January 24 (Reporter Zhang Daozheng) The reporter learned from the Tianjin Prevention and Control Headquarters on the 24th that Ninghe District discovered a batch of imported beer from the United States while conducting a nucleic acid test for a new coronavirus in a logistics company in its jurisdiction. The packaging sample tested positive.

This batch of goods did not flow into the Tianjin market and has been disposed of in accordance with relevant epidemic prevention measures. Nucleic acid tests of relevant personnel are in progress, and all the results have been negative.

  After investigation, the origin of the beer involved in the epidemic was the United States. From October 20, 2020 to January 6, 2021, it was imported from the United States in batches and shipped to Tianjin Port and transported to the warehouse of a logistics company in Ninghe District. When conducting nucleic acid tests on personnel, goods and the external environment, it was found that 2 samples of the whole pallet of beer packaging were positive, and the other results were negative.

On January 24, after a review by the Tianjin CDC, the result was still positive.

  As of 12:00 on January 24, the stocks of the goods involved in the epidemic have been sealed up and have not entered the Tianjin market. The final disinfection of the goods and the environment has been carried out.

On-site staff have taken protective measures. For safety reasons, 32 staff at risk of exposure and their close contacts have been controlled and sampled. The nucleic acid test results of 16 people were negative. Other results are pending; for related enterprises in the park 1066 people were quarantined at home and sampled, and the results are pending.
