In order to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus, new adults gathered in a car at a port in Yaizu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, and a drive-in ceremony was held.

Due to the influence of the new coronavirus, the coming-of-age ceremony in Yaizu City was divided into three times for each district, and parking spaces and stages were set up at the port in the city to avoid crowding.

At the ceremony in the morning, about 150 cars with new adults gathered, and Mayor Hiromichi Nakano said, "I thought about how to hold the coming-of-age ceremony safely and securely with the corona sickness. My hometown is watching over you forever." I said the words.

On behalf of the new adult, Hibiki Sunagawa vowed, "In a turbulent society, our future is not flat, but we will grow stronger and take on a new society."

A junior high school teacher in the city also attended the ceremony, walking between cars and talking with former students through the window.

A new adult man who participated in the convertible said, "It's a sunny day, so my parents told me to ride. The ventilation is perfect. I'm grateful for the ceremony."

A new adult woman said, "I'm glad I was able to wear the kimono that my sister wore. I'm refraining from seeing my friends, but I'll send photos to each other."
