INTERVIEW

In 2021, Pascal Obispo decided to innovate.

The singer leaves his record company and launches "Obispo All Access", his own mobile application around his music.

But his desire for novelty does not stop there.

"I would like to do something with PNL or Booba for example", reveals the singer, who explains greatly appreciated the music of the two French rappers.

"I really like PNL. I think they invented a sound that is ultra modern," he continues.

Pascal Obispo would also appreciate working with two international stars: "Adèle or Paul McCartney, things that are a bit classic for me".

"I had started working with Sadek, Seth Gueko and Kool Shen"

Pascal Obispo also returned to the project, still not released, of an album of covers of his songs by rappers.

It was Seth Gueko, who was to participate, who made it public in February 2019. "When you've done 30 years of music and when you've had the chance to be on the radio, the record companies jump on you by saying that they will take young artists to sing your songs, "he observes.

"I think it's old-fashioned, I don't like it. It's weird, it feels like the end."

Pascal Obispo has therefore decided to take the opposite view of this habit of record companies.

"I had the idea that the rappers sample my songs and re-type on it. I met a lot of artists who were ok," he says.

About this song, Pascal Obispo also finds a proximity with

, the last title of Booba.

But gives a not entirely convincing explanation for the suspension of the album project.

“By the time I did it, there was really an explosion in urban music and rap, so I think they're very busy,” he says.
