Frank Darcel, founder of the Rennes rock group Marquis de Sade, has died at the age of 65. His body was found on a beach in Galicia, northwest Spain, on Thursday.

On Instagram, singer Pascal Obispo paid tribute to the musician, also alluding to the death of singer Philippe Pascal in September 2019. Frank Darcel accompanied Étienne Daho on his first album in 1981 and even produced it in its early days. He defined the sound of the new group wave, notably contemporary with Joy Division.
