On December 27th, the 2020 Kunming Circle Dianchi Plateau Cycling Invitational kicked off. Nearly 700 participating athletes rode around Dianchi Lake. The race distance was divided into 110km for the professional group and 42km for the amateur group.
The competition is sponsored by the China Cycling Association, the Yunnan Provincial Sports Bureau, and the Kunming Municipal People's Government.
This year's track is optimized based on the 2019 route. The track is cycling around Dianchi, starting and ending at the municipal administrative center hall of Chenggong District, Kunming. The professional group completes a 110km race around Dianchi while the amateur group rides to the ethnic group. The village turns back, the schedule is 42km.
The athletes rode on the road along the shore of Dianchi Lake, and seagulls soared in the wetlands along the route, creating a picturesque scenery.
It’s worth mentioning that this year’s group setting has been added to the five major groups of men’s road invitation group, men’s road youth group, men’s road amateur group, men’s mountain bike amateur group, and women’s mountain bike amateur group. There is a women's road invitation group, which is the first in the domestic invitational competition.
After 9 years of nurturing and building, the Kunming Circle Dianchi Plateau Cycling Race has become an important platform and window for publicizing and displaying the urban construction of Kunming and the beautiful scenery of Dianchi Lake.
