In collaboration with the Swedish Journalists' Association, Tom Alandh will next year award Tom Alandh's storytelling prize for the first time.

The prize pool is SEK 25,000 and will be awarded annually to a journalist for good storytelling in radio, television and text.

- There are, I think, so many fantastic narrators in Swedish journalism who never get a prize.

Now at least ten people get to experience that joy, says Tom Alandh who sees that the money is enough to hand out the prize for ten years.

Wanted to share with others

The journalist himself has received several awards for his story.

The KTH prize gave him the idea that part of the money would be used for his own storytelling prize.

- It was KTH's rector who called in June and said that I had received their big prize and 1.1 million!

An almost inconceivable price sum that it felt obvious not to party up all by yourself, says Tom Alandh

In total, Tom Alandh has set aside SEK 250,000 for the prize, which will thus be awarded for a period of ten years.

The money will be managed by the Swedish Journalists' Association, which has no influence regarding the choice of prize winners.
