Sapporo City has announced that 54 new people have been confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus.
The number of daily infection confirmations in Sapporo exceeded 46 on the 26th of this month, the highest number ever.
The city also announced that a man in his 70s who was hospitalized and treated in the city died on the 31st.
This brings the total number of infected people in Hokkaido to 3,109 and the number of people who died to 110.
