An event to recreate the fireworks that were being shown to entertain messengers from China at Shurijo Castle during the Ryukyu Kingdom was held on the night of the 20th, shortly one year after the large-scale fire.

This event was held in Urasoe City, Okinawa Prefecture, one year before the fire, at the National Theater Okinawa, where traditional Okinawan performing arts are shown, hoping for the reconstruction of Shuri Castle.

This time, the recreated "Karakuri Fireworks" was shown at Shurijo Castle to entertain messengers from China about 150 years ago during the Ryukyu Kingdom era.

In the special venue set up in the yard of the theater, a device with a cloud-shaped mount on a pillar of about 3 meters was installed, and fireworks craftsmen prepared for the demonstration.

And a demonstration of Karakuri fireworks was held in front of the audience.

Applause and cheers were raised as the discs spun around, sparks scattered, and dragon gimmicks came out.

The man who watched it said, "The fireworks have changed and it was very gorgeous and fun to watch. It is very interesting how the craftsmen made the gimmicks."
